Thymosin Alpha-1
Thymosin Alpha-1 is one of the most studied immune-regulating peptides in the world — approved in over 35 countries and used in clinical settings for decades. It works by activating and modulating T-cells, your immune system’s command-and-control unit, helping your body mount smarter, more effective immune responses without the dysregulation that leads to chronic inflammation.
This treatment addresses:
- Frequent illness & slow recovery
- Chronic fatigue & low resilience
- Post-viral lingering symptoms
- Chronic inflammation markers
- Immune dysregulation & autoimmunity
- Brain fog & cognitive fatigue
- Accelerated biological aging
- Low T-cell activity on labs
Your prescription includes:
- Unlimited messaging with your BioCore physician
- Free dose adjustments, always included
- Free discreet shipping every month
- Full immune panel labs & monitoring

Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) is a naturally occurring peptide derived from thymosin fraction 5, originally isolated from the thymus gland. The thymus is where T-cells — the generals of your immune army — are trained and deployed. As we age, the thymus shrinks and T-cell production and quality decline. TA-1 essentially gives your immune system a firmware update.
Unlike immunosuppressants (which blunt immune response) or nonspecific immune boosters, TA-1 is an immunomodulator — it helps your immune system be smarter and more precise. It upregulates T-helper cells when you need a stronger response, and downregulates excessive inflammatory signaling when your immune system is overreacting. This bidirectional effect is what makes it uniquely valuable.
Clinical background
TA-1 has been studied in HIV, hepatitis B and C, cancer, sepsis, and autoimmune conditions. It’s approved as Zadaxin® in over 35 countries. Multiple peer-reviewed studies support its safety and efficacy for immune modulation in healthy adults.
Administration
- Subcutaneous injection using a small insulin-style needle — the same type used for CJC-1295 and other peptides.
- Standard protocol: 1.5mg twice weekly (typically Tuesday and Friday) for 12–24 weeks, then a maintenance phase.
- Inject into lower abdomen, outer thigh, or upper arm fat. Rotate sites.
Timing
- TA-1 can be injected at any time of day — it does not need to be timed around sleep like GH peptides.
- Morning is most common for convenience and compliance.
Storage
- Lyophilized powder: store at room temperature, away from light
- Reconstituted solution: refrigerate 36–46°F, use within 30 days
Your BioCore physician will walk you through everything via secure patient messaging.
Active Compound
- Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) — 1.5mg/vial, synthetic peptide identical to the naturally occurring Tα1 peptide. 28-amino-acid sequence. Pharmaceutical grade from 503B-compliant US compounding pharmacy.
Inactive Ingredients
- Bacteriostatic Water USP (for reconstitution)

- Enhanced T-cell function — More effective immune surveillance and response to pathogens
- Reduced chronic inflammation — Bidirectional immune modulation prevents overreaction and cytokine dysregulation
- Faster recovery from illness — Immune system resolves infections more efficiently
- Improved energy — Downstream effect of reduced chronic immune activation and inflammation
- Anti-aging immune support — Addresses thymic involution (age-related immune decline)
- Potential autoimmune benefit — Clinical evidence supports use in select autoimmune conditions under physician supervision
- Cognitive clarity — Reduced neuro-inflammation improves focus and mental sharpness
Hear from our patients
“I was getting sick 4-5 times a year and it was destroying my productivity. After 8 weeks on Thymosin Alpha-1 I haven’t had so much as a sniffle. My energy is up, my head is clearer, and I feel twenty years younger.”
“I’ve been dealing with a chronic autoimmune condition for years. My rheumatologist wasn’t interested in peptides but BioCore actually listened, reviewed the research with me, and built a protocol around my specific situation. The difference has been significant.”
“Post-COVID I was a wreck for almost a year. Brain fog, fatigue, getting sick constantly. Thymosin Alpha-1 was the thing that finally turned it around. Within six weeks I felt like myself again. I can’t recommend BioCore enough.”

Frequently asked questions
Is Thymosin Alpha-1 FDA approved?
Thymosin Alpha-1 is approved as Zadaxin® in over 35 countries for immune conditions including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and as adjuvant therapy in cancer. In the US, it is available as a physician-prescribed compound from licensed compounding pharmacies. BioCore physicians prescribe it legally under standard medical practice.
Who is a good candidate for Thymosin Alpha-1?
Patients who get sick frequently, recover slowly, have elevated inflammatory markers, deal with chronic fatigue, or have post-viral lingering symptoms are often excellent candidates. Patients with autoimmune conditions may also benefit under careful physician supervision. Your BioCore physician will review your full history before prescribing.
How soon will I notice results?
Energy and resilience improvements are often noticed within 3–4 weeks. Measurable changes in immune markers (on labs) typically show up at the 6–8 week mark. Many patients notice they stop getting sick during the first treatment cycle. Full benefit is typically seen after 12–24 weeks of consistent use.
Can I use this with other BioCore treatments?
Yes — and it’s commonly combined with peptide therapy (CJC-1295/Ipamorelin), NAD+, and hormone optimization protocols. Thymosin Alpha-1 pairs particularly well with NAD+ for comprehensive cellular longevity support. Your physician will design everything to work together safely.
I have an autoimmune condition. Can I still take this?
Possibly — and TA-1 has actually shown benefit in some autoimmune contexts due to its immunomodulatory (not immunostimulating) mechanism. However, this requires careful physician evaluation of your specific condition, medications, and labs. Do not self-prescribe. Your BioCore physician will review everything.
Is it safe long-term?
TA-1 has decades of clinical use with an excellent safety profile. Most protocols run 12–24 weeks followed by a maintenance phase. Long-term use under physician supervision is well-tolerated. No significant adverse effects have been documented in the clinical literature at therapeutic doses.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes. BioCore treatments are HSA/FSA eligible. We also provide itemized receipts for insurance reimbursement claims.
